About The Book
How often do you find yourself wondering why the same outcomes in relationships, be it familiar or personal, continue to happen to you? When is the last time you caught yourself feeling as if there was something missing? Or something more to life than your current predicaments? When was the last time you had a negative thought about yourself, that you could not comfortably say aloud because society would judge it by their skewed standards? Or how about a time when you felt defeated but had to keep moving forward for the sake of image or responsibility? In Adrienne ‘Quinn’s new book, every page answers, provides depth, and context to the above questions.
Excerpt
Life is a slideshow full of relationships. The journey we experience with our parent, children, brother, sister, friend, teachers, strangers, significant other, and spouse are all relationships in which we learn to exist and navigate life. The people gifted to us by blood were, in some realm, ordained by God to guide and influence our life experiences. These life experiences do not always present as the most favorable or positive; however, they are a part of our story.

Read an excerpt:
Though the wide mirror made the tiny room feel big, it had the opposite effect on Tal. She splashed water on her face. Her reflection seemed to shrink in the big glass, making her feel like a single speck of humanity on a vast planet in an endless universe. A lone Vessel housing the infinity of Spirit.
She splashed more water and blinked. A more present and focused woman blinked back—one who wasn’t much different than the woman who had been uprooted from her old life in Pittsburgh. But she had accepted an insane job as a ghost host and had been branded with her very first tattoo. Her badge and gun were gone, and the concept of “protect and serve” now meant something else entirely.
Tal grabbed one of the soft white towels and dried her face. The cloth smelled fresh and clean, like air-dried linen—it was homey, comforting
She caught her own gaze in the mirror one more time. That frightened, hopeless woman from the pawnshop window two weeks ago was gone. A more confident person replaced her—equally uncertain but willing and ready to face a new and unpredictable future. Perhaps her change was more like the grown-up happy child after all, and less like the dried up pool full of leaves and dirt.
A sudden pain stabbed her left ankle, and the skin around her new tattoo seemed to—move. Tal sat on the bed, yanked up her pant leg and crossed her left foot over her right knee.
While most of the iridescent vines shimmered normally, a small cluster at the center of her inside leg were twisting together into a small circular mark at her ankle. They pulled in the hidden SObY letters, elongating and absorbing them to form a kind of Celtic or Romanesque knot made of iridescent vines.
Her flesh burned slightly as the center of the twisting knot opened and a tiny image took shape. The figure was more primitive and cryptic, like a totem carving or cave painting, but it definitely had wings. One last vine connected and the twisting stopped. So did the pain.
Tal inhaled sharply. She held her breath, steeled her nerve, and touched the mark. Though the texture looked different, and though the mark was round against the straight, interconnected tendrils of the tattoo that circled her leg, the skin felt the same on both. Tal exhaled and closed her eyes, unable to discern where one ended and the other began. When she opened her eyes again, she caught the symbol’s shrouded image for a fleeting moment before it finished. What she’d thought was a primitive knot or ancient medallion of vines turned out to be—a nest. At its center, the angel figure had become an enigmatic, nearly invisible dove clutching a vine in its beak like an olive branch. The mark twisted closed, hiding the nest and bird inside. Goosebumps tore up and down Tal’s skin.
She shifted to the nearby desk and fired up her computer. Her trembling fingers flew over the keyboard as she researched images of doves, dove symbolism, the “Serve Others” expression, and any other ideas the tattoo inspired. Her search turned up a host of disparate sites—from the dove above Jesus at his baptism, to white birds being released at weddings and funerals, to recipes on preparing tasty squab. Nothing reflected this tattoo or its particular elements.
“This is crazy,” she mumbled, working her shoulders to unstick the tension. “That many Vessels in the world, spanning decades, and not a single image or hit?”

Author Bio:
Anna Elias is a screenwriter who began her career as Don Johnson’s assistant on Miami Vice. She’s worked on feature films such as Nell, The Rainmaker, The Client, 12 Monkeys, A Time to Kill, and Practical Magic. She has written and co-written spec films, TV scripts, and award-winning shorts. Anna’s passion for justice translates to her work. This was especially true on the set of John Grisham’s A Time to Kill. Canton, Mississippi had just suffered great racial hardship and division in a Mayoral race. With Anna’s encouragement, the movie crew made extra efforts to befriend, buy from, and work with the townspeople, and it served to break down walls of inequality and injustice that had divided the town for decades. The impact was so positive that Dan Rather traveled there to tape a 2-part special for 48 Hours.

...from chapter fifteen
She caught a glimpse of Bill’s scarred neck and considered prying. “May I ask a personal question?”
“Sure.” He steered the next turn. “I’ll answer if I can.”
“Did you get burned?”
He rubbed the side of his neck as if to soothe a haunting memory. “I used to be a fireman. Got caught in a seven-story roof collapse. Almost bought it.” He tapped cruise control and slid his shoe off the accelerator.
An injured fireman with a near-death experience turned private investigator made more sense to her now. Bill didn’t fit the cookie-cutter-investigator type.
They hit smooth asphalt in the cross into Sullivan County. Annalisse relished the soothing hum from the roadway. At the county border, they passed a renovated eighteenth-century church refurbished into a modern brick farmhouse. The original belfry and bell sat atop the gable roof at the midpoint, with a new masonry chimney erected on one side near the redwood decking. She hadn’t noticed it the first time with Woody.
“What a horrible experience for you, Bill. I’m sorry. Alec didn’t mention it.”
“We don’t talk about it much. For a bunch of reasons.” Bill fiddled with a tabloid-size newspaper wedged next to the console. “My hours are better now anyway.” He chuckled, rolling the newsprint into a tube and blowing into it.
“A gossip rag? Haven’t read any juicy dirt in a while. I could use a laugh.” She reached for the paper, expecting him to hand it to her.
“Boring issue.” Bill tossed the roll over the headrest, wiping newsprint from his fingers to the seat.
That was strange.
She tried to grab it, but it landed just out of her reach.
Annalisse unbuckled and twisted for a closer look at the huge headline, reading aloud, “THE HOUND CHASES ANOTHER FOX. Please people. Such original journalism. Who this time?” She laughed as she lunged for the paper.
Bill’s arm moved in like a slingshot and bumped her sore cheek, blocking her.
“Ow. Watch the road,” she exclaimed and bounced backward. “Walking wounded here. Just drive, Bill. Allow me to revel in someone else’s grief for a while.”
He touched her elbow. “Please don’t.”
Bill wasn’t smiling, and his skin had morphed to ashen of the dead. He had the look of a man who’d just lost his best friend and was about to lose his faithful dog too.
It clicked. “What don’t you want me to see what thousands of other people have already seen?”
“Wait till we get to Brookehaven so he can—”
“Who can?” Annalisse hung over the seat and stretched her sore body far enough to snag the tabloid with her fingertips. She braced herself—the photo had to be disturbing.
“The timing is bad. Really bad.” Bill stared at the road and in a low voice added, “I’m so sorry.”
The pang of the unknown boomeranged through her heart, and she looked down at the front page of Reveal Reality.
A couple with their backs to the camera, overlooking an ocean at sunset at some kind of event. She wasn’t sure where but expected the piece would say. The paparazzi photographer had zoomed in on a brunette in a skimpy, backless sundress leaning into a man with his elegant hand cupping her barely covered butt cheek. His chiseled profile and windblown curls were unmistakable.
Say bye-bye to the mysterious, green-eyed Annalisse! Italian starlet Monica Corsetti on Italy’s Riviera with Greek magnate, Alec Zavos of the Signorile Corporation. They were…
She covered her mouth.
“Pull over, Bill. I’m gonna throw up.”

Book Tour & Giveaway ~ Blood Feud - The Legends of Ansu by J. W. Webb
Bera gazed out from the cabin as the flakes swirled and settled,
hiding the track through the woods, obscuring tree line and sky above. She
gazed up into that blanket of white, hearing the cry of geese winging south
somewhere far above. Lucky
birds––escaping from this place.
No escape for her.
The wind cried chill and far off, deeper in
the forest, she heard wolf voices calling out to each other. Bera wiped damp
from her hair and stamped her feet. She should go inside, see to young Jaran.
He’d be hungry again soon. Her son was always hungry. Like his father, Jaran
came from fighting stock—the Jarle’s eldest son was the best warrior on
the island. But where was Hrelgi now? What had come over him, tramping off to
the hall in such a manner, with the promise of winter storm to come? That
temper would ruin them all.
Her husband had left three hours ago, and
night beckoned. Night was no longer safe. Not even for him. It was scarce ten
miles to the hall where Hrelgi’s father held power.
Or tried to…
A short
trip––even in this weather—and Hrelgi was strong and clad in the finest
wool and furs. He should be here with them. Hrelgi’s business with the Jarle
could have waited until morning. Jaran needed his father.
Bera chewed her lip and shivered as the wild
creatures called out from the forest. Not that she was worried about those––for
her or her beloved. They were just beasts. Hrelgi was more than a match for any
creature or man. Stalwart and steadfast—unlike his brother and father, both lesser men
in Bera’s opinion. But she who now resided inside that hall was another matter.
Sheega
Bera repressed a shiver when she thought of
that woman. It was all so strange, uncanny
even. Sheega. The beautiful enigmatic foreigner had appeared like a drow
out of the mist, scarce two weeks before the untimely death of Casla, Jarle
Hrund’s beloved spouse.
Poor Casla had been found floating face down,
drowned in the river. No witnesses, just a body floating out to sea, seen by
fishers leaving at dawn. She’d been a good swimmer, Casla. Strange.
Jarle Hrund should be in mourning. Instead the
old fool was caught like a wasp in amber. Hooked and trapped by those canny
blue eyes and clever, beautiful face. Sheega ruled the hall these days. Word
was, she came from cursed Dunnehine far to the east. Bera could believe it. The
woman was as frightening as the rumors of that strange land.
She’d warned Hrelgi to stay put. “Don’t
provoke that woman. Your father’s folly is not your affair,” she’d yelled at
him as Hrelgi had strode off through the snow, his axe hanging at waist belt
and a short bow slung across his shoulders.
He’d turned once and blown her a kiss, his
fair hair lifting in the wind. “I’ll return before dusk, sweetheart,” he’d told
her, the liar.
Bera glanced up again. Quiet, calm. The wind
had eased back, and an icy chill settled in the crack of willow branches
surrounding her. She knew something was amiss. Call it female intuition, but
every fiber in her body urged Bera to wrap Jaran in swaddling furs and leave
this place. But where to go, and what
about her man? She heard a scream from inside and Bera felt an icy chill
cramp her stomach.
Jaran was crying. That boy never wept. She ran
into the room, blinking as warmth and hearth-light dazzled her. Jaran lay face
down on the floor. He’d fallen from the cot. He wasn’t crying now. He was
gazing up at her with those knowing blue eyes. His gaze shifted to the door,
left ajar from her passage. Bera turned as the wind returned sharply and
blasted the coals across the little room. A man stood there. Tall, stooped. His
face shadowed by a hood, and gloved hands reaching out for the boy.
“I’ve come to take your son.” The man’s voice
was crow-raw as he stooped over mother and child. Bera shrieked and reached for
her hidden knife.
Grabbing its bone handle, she stabbed upward
at his shadowy face. He didn’t blink, but a gloved fist snatched the knife from
her grasp with eerie speed. “You don’t need that,” the stranger said with that
rope-rough voice. “I am not your enemy, woman––but rather one who would help
you.”
“Unlikely words for a specter in the eve of
night,” Bera hissed, and gazing down at Jaran marked how quiet and calm he was.
Unafraid. Curious. A warrior. The
child seemed at ease in the presence of this stranger. Reluctantly, Bera tore
her gaze from Jaran and glared up at the man holding her knife. So hard to see
his face inside that hood.
He flipped the blade deftly through gloved
fingers, then tossed it into the oak mantle, where it quivered twice and
settled. Jaran giggled as though approving.
“We’re short on time, Bera Ormesdottir,” the
raw voice barked, making her jump. “They are coming for the boy—Jaran
will be charcoal embers by dawn if you tarry here.”
“What madness is this?” Bera lashed out with a
fist.
Again, he was quicker, catching her wrist and
lowering her arm, none too gently. He slapped her face with his free hand.
“Give me the boy.”
“My husband will be here soon,” she said.
“He’ll cut out your knave’s heart for striking a Jarle’s daughter.”
The stranger laughed, his cold gray eyes
blazing like winter stars. “Hrelgi cannot help you, girl. She will cast the runes. Soon the hunt will range out, by order of
your father the Jarle, and led by your husband’s brother.”
“How do you know this? What is it that they
hunt?” Bera felt the icy stab of dread again. Hrelgi.
“Hasn’t long to live.” The uncanny stranger
nodded briskly, his sharp eyes pinning her gaze. “I can save you, Bera. But
first I must take this boy.”

Julian put on the smolder, and she
realized what he’d attempted drunkenly at the bar all those months ago didn’t
hold a candle to this. His eyes were heated, his jaw prominent, his mouth
hooked into her favorite lopsided smile, his dimple popping. “Stardust, there’s
so much that I want to do to you.” Each word that came out of that sensual
mouth of his dripped with sex. The lyrics from “Hot in Here” drifted through
her head, and she almost had to physically stop herself from fanning her face.
Amalie’s breathing grew heavy as the
space between them grew electric, a tangible thing holding them in place. She
looked at him, and not from beneath her lashes. No, she met his stare head-on,
because she owned her feelings this time, just this once not caring about the
consequences. All she could think about since they stepped foot in that hotel
room was Julian and how much she needed him, how he was the only one who could
fill the void in her chest.
“Why don’t you show me?” she
challenged, her voice a sultry whisper.
Julian moved, his eyes flashing a
deep green, the color of the forest during a thunderstorm. He was slow,
achingly slow, as his hand reached forward to hold the back of her head, his
hand digging deep into her hair. The feel of his fingers fisting in her locks
threatened to completely unravel her.
“This is a terrible idea.” Julian’s
voice had taken on that deep, husky timbre, a tone that promised hours, hell,
even days of endless pleasure and
tangled limbs beneath the sheets.
His thumb came up to rub a gentle
path over her lips. She wanted to know how he kissed, how he did…other things.
Was he rough or was he gentle?
It didn’t matter, not when she
wanted it all from him.
A tiny gasp escaped her as she
reacted to his touch, his scent, his everything.
“It’s a terrible idea, yes,” she
finally murmured against his thumb.
He stilled, a slow-building grin
tilting his lips. His eyes blazing as they flitted from her mouth to her eyes
and back again. “Tell me we shouldn’t do this then.” He moved closer, his hand
running a line up and down her neck, featherlight, and Amalie found herself
arching into his touch, the reaction immediate and natural. “Tell me,”
he coaxed, even though his tightening grip in her hair and his fevered touch
screamed the absolute opposite.
“I can’t. Not this time,” she
answered, her voice stronger now, which was surprising given the fact that
white-hot lust lit her up like the 4th of July.
She slipped her hands around the
back of Julian’s neck, finally burying her fingers into his unruly hair, and
then Julian’s mouth brushed over hers in the most torturous almost-kiss of her
entire life. It was barely a whisper, but it was already hotter than any
full-on kiss she’d ever experienced.
“You’re going to ruin me, Amalie.”
Her hand clasped around his wrist, stilling his movements.
“Shut up and kiss me already.”
