Book Blitz ~ Fabulously Flawed by Lynn Hancock Pearson

Fabulously Flawed
Lynne Hancock Pearson
Publication date: November 15th 2025
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

Small town. Big dreams. One renovation that changes everything.

After three years of climbing the corporate ladder, Carl can practically taste the corner office with his name on the door. However, caring for his injured grandmother takes precedence, forcing his return to Keeney. But not to stay. Career-wise, the small town is a dead end, and others have their eye on that corner office.

Trading boardroom strategy for work boots and hard hats, Carl rejoins Keeney Building Supply to work as a general contractor—temporarily. He’s made that clear to everyone, including Sylvie.

Years ago, they parted ways before their mutual attraction could ignite, and Sylvie moved on, partnering with a charming developer who shared her excitement for flipping houses. However, charm can be deceiving—the developer wanted only her money, not her heart, leaving her plans in ruins.

Carl steps in, offering friendship, ice cream, and a new opportunity for her own home renovation business. Sylvie’s spark returns, and their attraction kindles, but Carl keeps his distance.

With his grandmother well on her way to recovery, there’s nothing to keep him in the small town. His future is waiting, and it’s not in Keeney.

Or is it?

A workplace romance, Fabulously Flawed is a story of the messy beauty of falling for someone who challenges everything you thought you wanted: a would-be house flipper who clashes and connects with the driven project manager determined to escape the confines of small-town life.

EXCERPT:

Hoping Carl would indeed wind up at her place, Sylvie had spent the morning in a cleaning frenzy, and her kitchen shone. There were fresh, fluffy towels in the sparkling bathroom, vacuum tracks on the carpet, and most importantly, clean sheets on the bed. Afterward, she’d collapsed on the couch.

But then she didn’t like the placement of the living room furniture, so she’d arranged and rearranged it to look cozier, and placed candles artfully around the room. To say she was nervous was an understatement. Images of Carl naked and hovering over her had haunted her dreams. She had no doubt the reality would be even better.

Part of her dream came true about twenty minutes later.

Having told Carl to get comfortable, she’d gone into the kitchen to assemble a late-night snack. From the fridge, she pulled the cheeseboard she’d assembled that morning and the wine. And not her usual box of Okanagan Porchbanger. For this momentous night—at least she hoped it would be—she’d splurged on a higher-end bottle. On a waiting tray, she arranged the cheeseboard, plates, napkins, and two glasses of wine.

Carl sat on the couch, one arm draped along the back of the cushions. She’d been right about the candles because the soft light made his dark eyes shine. Transfixed by the invitation in his smile, she walked into the living room and promptly tripped.

Moving quickly, Carl leaped from the couch to catch the falling glasses, but not before the contents splashed across his face, to drip down his chest. Cheese, crackers, cornichons, and cured meats were scattered across the coffee table that Sylvie had relocated earlier that day. Holding the two glasses, Carl blinked drops of wine from his lashes.

Sylvie’s mouth hung open as she stared at him in dismay. “Oh my God! I am so, so sorry!”

“It’s okay,” he said, smacking his lips. “I like a good rosé.” He set the glasses on the tray and took it from Sylvie’s hands. “Are you okay? Did you hurt yourself?”

Pain radiated from where her knee had connected with the stupid coffee table. It wasn’t bleeding, but she’d have a lovely bruise tomorrow. “No,” she replied, bending her knee experimentally. “I’m fine, but your shirt isn’t.” Soaked through in spots, the fabric was rapidly turning pink.

He took the tray into the kitchen and returned, unbuttoning his shirt and pulling it from the waistband of his trousers. “It’ll wash. But do you have a towel? I’d like to clean up a bit.”

After guiding him to the bathroom and handing him a towel, Sylvie went to clean up the mess. The good news was that nothing had broken, and only Carl had gotten wet. The bad news was…she sucked at seduction. He probably had an Uber on the way, ready to make his escape. She scooped the remains of her carefully planned evening off the coffee table and got down on her knees to retrieve tiny pickles from under the couch.

She turned to look when Carl returned, and her mouth hung open again. Hands shoved into his trouser pockets, and shirtless, he was a sight to behold. A smattering of hair covered his pectoral muscles and arrowed down his taut belly. The slopes and dips that defined the muscles of his arms and chest called to her, and she rose from the floor, knowing she was staring and not caring a bit.

Book Title: Sully (Kiss of Death MC)

Motorcycle Club Romance, Suspense, Age Gap

An ex-con biker. A wild heroine. One night isn’t nearly enough.

Sully -- Fresh out of prison, I’m done with chaos. Whiskey, silence, and my brothers in the Kiss of Death MC -- that’s all I want or need. Until Darby storms into Throttle. She’s sharp-tongued, fearless, and dangerous as hell. She stirs trouble like it’s an art form, and I should walk away. But when she looks at me, I feel alive for the first time in years. She’s the kind of trouble that could wreck me. And I want every second of it.

Darby -- I don’t stick. Not to towns, not to people, sure as hell not to men. Stirring up chaos and disappearing before the fallout, that’s how I roll. Then Sully happens. A rough around the edges ex-con. All scars and quiet control. He should terrify me. Instead, he makes me want to stay. But staying means dragging him into the shadows I’ve been running from, and the men hunting me won’t stop until I’m gone for good.

One night was supposed to be enough. Now neither of us can let go.

And the danger chasing me just found us both.

Warning: This book contains dark themes, adult relationships and language, violence, and situations some readers may find triggering. Intended for mature audiences only.

EXCERPT

Sully

The smell of stale beer, cigarette smoke, and something I thought might be grilled onions permeated the main room of Throttle. The bar was frequented by not only members of Kiss of Death MC, but most MCs in the area. People behaved for the most part, but occasionally, the place could be counted on for a good knockdown, drag out. It was one of my favorite bars.

I stood alone at the far end of the bar where I could flag the bartender when I was empty. Right now, I nursed a double shot of Jack that burned less and less with each sip. Night had fallen an hour ago, but the place was just starting to get rowdy. The jukebox in the corner played Lynyrd Skynyrd. Someone had put Street Survivors on repeat which… I mean, great album. But if this kept up, I might have to rethink staying much longer.

Men in leather vests with patches proclaiming their club affiliation and road names hunched over pool tables in the back, cue balls cracking against each other in sharp retorts. Some of the guys had women hanging onto them. Some were trying to get rid of the women hanging on. I just wanted to get pleasantly buzzed. Made the company seem less offensive and more amusing.

I took another sip, letting the amber liquid slide down my throat. The bartender, a mountain of a man with forearms thick as my calves, wiped down the counter in mechanical circles, his eyes constantly sweeping the room for trouble. There was always trouble at Throttle. It was just a matter of when.

Then she walked in.

I didn’t recognize her, which meant she wasn’t a regular. Nobody who valued their skin wandered into Throttle without knowing what they were walking into. She wore a leather jacket that had seen better days. Her dark hair was pulled back in a messy braid, revealing sharp cheekbones and a small scar that cut through her right eyebrow. It wasn’t the kind of scar you got from childhood accidents. It was the kind you earned.

She moved with a predator’s grace, weaving between tables without touching a single patron. Her boots made no sound on the scarred wood floor. I watched her scan the room as she made her way to the bar. When those eyes briefly met mine, I felt a chill that had nothing to do with the watered-down Jack in my glass.

After ordering her poison, she headed straight for the dartboard hanging on the back wall, where three bikers were tossing darts with the casual disregard of men who owned the space around them. They noticed her approach, their conversation dying as she stopped at the edge of their circle. The tallest one, a bear of a man with a gray-streaked beard reaching his chest, looked her up and down with a smirk.

“Lost, little girl?” he asked, twirling a dart between thick fingers.

The woman smiled. Not a nervous smile, not an appeasing one. It was the serene smile of a shark who had spotted blood in the water and knew there were no lifeboats.

“Just looking for a game,” she replied, her voice carrying easily despite the blaring rock music. “Unless you boys are afraid to play with girls.”

The three men exchanged glances, amused by her audacity. The bearded one chuckled lightly. “You need to move on, sweetheart. The kinda playin’ we do ain’t somethin’ a sweet little thing like you could handle.”

“Look,” she said, leaning in closer to the big, bearded guy. “I’m just gonna give it to you straight. I’m broke.” She shrugged. “Flat busted. I want alcohol and a motel room, and since I don’t believe in earning my keep on my back or my knees, it’s gonna have to be darts. I’m not very good at anything else.”

“Tell you what,” Big Beard said, crossing big, beefy arms over his chest. “I’ll give you twenty bucks if you can get a dart in the inner single ring.”

“Which one is that?” She didn’t bat an eyelash as she asked her question. I held my breath, watching in rapt fascination as the girl led the three men by the balls straight into a trap I was sure they didn’t see coming. The bartender snorted as he polished a glass before turning his back to the corner.

“See the two thick circles that separate the outer part of the board and the inner part?”

“Uh-huh.” She stuck a finger in her mouth to nibble on the nail nervously.

“Well, if you can stand over there” -- he pointed to where there was a bright yellow line on the floor -- “and throw a dart that sticks in the big circle closest to the center, I’ll give you twenty bucks.”

The girl grinned. “Okay. How many shots do I get?”

The guys looked at each other before one of the others spoke. “We’ll give you three shots this time. But if you win, the next time you only get two.”

“Okay. That sounds fair.” She reached out her hand for the darts.

“Don’t you want to know what you have to give us if you lose?” The big guy spoke again. The lascivious grin on his face left no doubt what he’d demand as her payment.

“Why?” She tilted her head, looking for all the world like she truly didn’t understand his question.

“Well, we figured you’d want to know our prize if you lose. You don’t want to make a bed and not know what you’re giving up. What if I demand your house?”

She shrugged. “That’d be your bad since I don’t have a house.” She waved her hand in a dismissive gesture. “Besides, I’m not going to lose.”

They all three chuckled again, and Big Beard handed her a dart. “Behind the line, darlin’,” he drawled. Big Beard tossed his dart first and it landed at two o’clock in the middle of the first single ring on the board. His buddies grunted in approval. “Your turn, darlin’.”

The girl complied, then shook out her arm in a big show. She took a couple practice movements, then tossed her dart. It hit inside the circle she was supposed to hit and her dart was closer to the center than Big Beard’s.

One thing’s for sure—I’m in no hurry for Christmas to arrive.

Travis
Christmas in the Northeast? In the freezing cold? Yeah, not exactly my idea of home. But turning down this job offer wasn’t an option—it’s the kind of opportunity that doesn’t come around every day.

EXCERPT:

“Callie, I know this isn’t a typical holiday season for you. I can’t imagine how you are feeling now that…things are different without …”

“You can say his name, Hannah.”

“Joey,” she says softly. “I’m sorry. I know this is a difficult time.”

I shake my head. “Don’t be sorry. I asked him to set a wedding date, and he said he wasn’t ready and didn’t know when he would be. That pretty much told me everything I needed to know. Our goals were not exactly as aligned as I thought they were.”

She places a hand on my shoulder and gives it a gentle squeeze. “I’m really proud of you.”

“Proud? For getting dumped?”

“No. For not settling,” she explains. “And for letting me drag you into crazy holiday chaos instead of spending the night alone, binge-watching TV shows you’ve seen a hundred times.”

I laugh under my breath. “You’re not wrong. This is good for me—I always do better when I’m busy.”

“You might even enjoy yourself at the festive family night,” she says, tying another bow in less than two seconds.

“Oh, I’m sure it’ll be a blast,” I say flatly. “Hundreds of children, awkward small talk, and tacky decor. I’m all in.”

She giggles. “By the way, Anna’s new friend is coming with us. Her name’s Mia. She’s such a sweetheart.”

“Cool,” I say, biting my lip as I attempt another bow.

“And her dad’s meeting us there.”

I glance up. “Okay?”

“He’s a very nice guy…”

I narrow my eyes at her. “That’s great. Is there a reason you’re telling me this?”

She conveniently avoids making eye contact with me.

“Hannah…”

“Yes?”

“What are you up to?”

“I’m not up to anything,” she says, innocently. “I just thought it might be nice for you to meet a new friend.”

I stare at her. I should’ve known she was up to something. She was very insistent that I go to the festive family night.

She shrugs. “Anyway, he’s single. And nice. He has a good job. And he’s very—”

“Stop right there,” I interrupt. “No setups. You promised.”

“I didn’t set you up,” she says. “I merely mentioned that a single, employed man who also happens to be a devoted father will be in the same vicinity as you.”

“Oh, well in that case,” I say, rolling my eyes again.

She smirks and reaches over to take the mangled ribbon from my hands. “Here, let me help. You’re not exactly grasping the bow tying process here.”

“I didn’t get Mom’s crafty gene like you,” I mutter.

She laughs. “No. But you certainly inherited the moody gene from her.”

“I’m not the only one,” I tell her.

She holds up a perfectly wrapped box, complete with an elaborate gold bow. “See? We make a good team.”

“Always,” I say. “You do the work, and I’m here for moral support.”

Book Blitz ~ The Roommate Agreement - A Fake Relationship Romance by A. Akinosho

The Roommate Agreement
A. Akinosho
(The Agreement, #3)
Publication date: November 12th 2025
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

One apartment. One fake boyfriend. One agreement waiting to be broken.

Makayla:
I’m tired of my dad playing matchmaker.
As a music teacher juggling life with sickle cell disease, I don’t have time—or energy—for forced dinner dates with “eligible men.”
So, I come up with a plan: find a fake boyfriend, let him move in, and make it believable.
Daniel was never supposed to say yes.
He’s a grumpy, emotionally walled-off lawyer who hates chaos and clings to solitude.
But now he’s in my apartment—tall, brooding, infuriatingly neat—and fitting into my world way too easily.
I don’t believe in love. Not when life has taught me it rarely sticks around.
But something about him feels dangerously real.

Daniel:
Something about her captured my attention the moment I met her.
I knew I was in trouble.
Controlled and always alone—that’s who I’ve been.
But I said yes before I could stop myself.
Because moving into her tea-scented, music-filled home was the only way I could be close to her.
She’s sunshine and sharp edges. She hums while stirring honey into her cup and smiles through pain like it’s nothing.
This was supposed to be pretend.
But with every stolen glance and late-night conversation, the line between real and fake keeps slipping.
She doesn’t believe in love.
I never thought it was possible.
But living with her is rewriting everything I thought I knew—
And walking away might not be an option.

Goodreads / Amazon

EXCERPT:

I get to the corner and down a drink while waiting for him. My mind wavers in ways I can’t understand. It shouldn’t be hard to call her and explain I misspoke—a rare occurrence—, but it’s believable enough to scrap the whole idea of moving in with my niece’s music teacher.

A woman that has captivated me from the moment I saw her. I can break free from that hold and make sure our paths never again cross. I can move back to New York. Yeah, that will do it but… are you going to? I already helped her with the music program, and my niece got the extra time with her. Deals are closed and everyone is happy. I can move back to New York, forget about her and break this choke hold she has on me. The real question is, do you want to break the hold?

No! The answer is immediate. I like how I feel around her.

Luke arrives and grabs the seat next to me. “Hey,” he says, patting my shoulder. He sits and the bartender brings his drink. He turns to me.

“I have a problem,” I say to him.

“Do you need your brothers?” he asks. Our coded language to pull the fire alarm.

I shake my head.

“If the problem required my brothers, then it was solved. Unfortunately, the problem I have involves a twenty something year old black woman who’s oblivious to my feelings for her.” Luke laughs, takes his jacket off. Guess he realizes it’s going to be a long night, and takes a sip of his drink. “I can’t stop thinking about her.” I released a frustrated sigh.

“I have been there, and the advice Declan gave me was to do something about it, and I’m giving you the same right now: if your feelings are real, then make your move now.”

“She needs a male roommate; I don’t know how it happened, but soon as she mentioned that she was looking for a male roommate, I immediately volunteered to be her roommate just to be a step closer to her. But now, I’m scared.” Luke listens without a word. “I can’t believe I’m saying this. I can call her, she gave me the option to change my mind.” I pause “but I can’t bring myself to take the option of walking away, and at the same time, moving in with her, which really makes no sense but I’m doing it anyway, even though it scares me.” I make a quick confession as Luke chuckles.

“Well, if it’s any consolation, I made sure Dele moved in with me fast because she had moved in with my brother, Osei, and the thought of her falling for my brother was driving me crazy. So, I guess I should ask you, if you don’t want to move in with her as her roommate, would you be okay if another guy becomes her roommate? Last I checked you dropped a hundred and fifty thousand just to keep her in town. I know you are going to claim it’s for your niece but, deep down, you want her around.”

“I couldn’t live with the option of her leaving, and I highly doubt some guy moving in with her is an option I can live it either.” I answer in a firm tone. Bravo, you answered your own question.

“Then you better pack up your bag and move in with her before she finds another roommate. If my guess is right, you’re probably not the first person she mentioned her needs for a male roommate to.”

I down my drink right away, I already concluded that to myself, I just felt my decision was crazy, now I know it isn’t. “She has sickle cell disease,” I say to him. He’s stunned. “I have spent the last few hours reading up on the disease and I understand why she lives close to the hospital.”

“That’s tough. She probably has crisis a lot.”

“Do you know about the disease?” I’m surprised he’s not asking me what a Sickle cell disease is.

“Yes, Dele is AS and as she explained could have only being an issue if she married another AS and she didn’t plus, being a nurse, she has mentioned it to me about patients.”

I nod.

“I don’t know about her crisis, but I have this urge to be close to her and be there for her when she needs help.” I say

“Like I said: pack up your bags and let us know if you need any help.”

I nod. Knowing any of my brother’s when a decision is made, the next step is to execute, it’s pointless analyzing it further.

Luke and I talk for the next few hours before I head back to Maggie’s place for the night. Getting in bed, I close my eyes and all I can think about is her, her beautiful smile and how easily she makes me laugh.

Tomorrow, our Roommate Agreement will be drafted.

Excerpt:

About an hour later, hearing a knock on her front door, she opened it without checking, assuming it was her food delivery, and found a goddess standing on her welcome mat. Tall, with olive skin, shiny black hair falling down her back and gray eyes, the woman wore a silver breastplate and had an owl on her shoulder.

“I am Athena, daughter of Zeus and goddess of wisdom and war.”

Sophia stared for a second and then burst out laughing. “Nice one. Did Lucy send you?”

“Lucy? No, I’m here because of the Golden Apple.”

Sophia put her hands on her hips. “Uh-huh, and how did you know I have it?”

Athena opened her mouth to reply, but Sophia continued, “Let me guess, you’re here to promise me wealth if I give it to you?”

Athena narrowed her eyes. “Did someone tell you I was coming? Did they beat me here?” She tried to peer past Sophia into the apartment.

“There’s no one here. Wait, who is they? Who is coming?” Sophia asked.

“Aphrodite and Hera, of course.” She turned around to look behind her as if they might be there already.
