Montana Mountain Romance #2
by
Dawn Luedecke

Genre:
Historical Romance

One
of the last outposts of the American West, the Montana Territory is
filled with promise and adventure for those with brave souls—and
open hearts . . .

Leader
of the Timberbeasts, logger Simon Sanders’ biggest problem a year
ago was deciding which willing woman to seduce. But since being
mauled by a cougar he’s become a pariah in Missoula’s social
circuit—and to himself. All he wants is to hide his scarred face
and disappear into the bottom of a whiskey bottle. His plan is going
well—until his sister’s best friend, Carrie Kerr, kidnaps him and
forces him to deal with his demons. If he didn’t know better, Simon
would swear the bossy beauty is a demon herself . . .
Carrie
doesn’t like to use the word kidnap. Unknowingly transport,
perhaps. In any case, she can no longer watch Simon destroy himself
in self-pity. Not since she lost her heart to him as she nursed him
back to health. Now, whatever happens between them, she’s
determined to bring him back to the one place he swore he’d never
return to, the place she’s sure will reignite his spirit. But if
things go awry, will she
will
she lose all hope for him to win back his life—much less share it
with her? . . .
Well
written, well researched. Like the river, this plot runs faster and
faster. Readers won’t be able to put it down.”

Montana Mountain Romance #1

The
Montana Territory is one of the last outposts of the American
West—where adventure as grand as the wide-open plains is around
every corner, and passion as wild as the land itself beats in every
heart . . .
Elizabeth
Sanders isn’t afraid of anything, except what will happen to her
beloved town if the Big Mountain Lumber Mill is destroyed. When she
overhears a plot to do just that, she vows to put a stop to it, even
if it means dressing as a young lumberjack to expose the saboteur.
There’s only one problem with her plan—her brother’s handsome
friend and fellow logger Garrett Jones, who arouses a desire within
her soul as fierce as the river rapids.
When
Garrett discovers that the odd new lad on the crew is in fact Beth,
he’s shocked. A logging camp is no place for a young
woman—especially the spirited beauty he’s admired for so long.
Keeping her safe is easier said than done, however, as the attraction
between them flares into true passion. As the danger mounts, Beth and
Garrett must work together to survive the last log run down the wild
rapids and claim any chance of saving the mill—and their chance at
a future . . .

Return to the wild frontier in the second installment of the ten-book series, Whiskey River Brides. Join Madison, Wyatt, and your favorite characters as they struggle to overcome loss, change, and discover the whispers of new love in this enchanting western world.

Poised, Samantha watched him for a moment. “There is a young lady in Whiskey River who is willing to pay for a mail-order husband.”
“Great.” Wyatt then asked, his brown eyes flaring, “So, why does she want a mail-order husband?”
She paused for a moment, taking him in. Wyatt felt as if she were studying him. “She’s being harassed by the owner of the saloon in town.”
Wyatt’s eyebrows pulled together in concern. “Why can’t someone arrest the man?”
Madame Chase shook her head. “I don’t think he’s done anything else that they could arrest him for, besides harassing her.”
Wyatt sat back. “So, she wants a husband to keep the guy at bay.”
She shrugged. “It’s probably not the wisest solution, but she feels it’s her only one.”
Wyatt stood up. “She needs someone to protect her.” He shook his head and headed toward the door. “I’m sorry, but I’m not your man.”
He was almost to the door.
“Wait!” Madame Chase yelled.
Wyatt froze, but didn’t turn to face her.
“Wouldn’t you like to see her picture?”
Wyatt moved his jacket to the side and placed his hand on his hip. “I’m not going to change my mind.” But a part of him already wanted to protect her, no matter what she looked like, and he wasn’t sure why. He shook his head as he forced a smile and walked back into the room. “You’re good.”
She shrugged. “It’s my business.” She picked up a photograph that Wyatt hadn’t noticed and handed it to him.
A part of him didn’t want to look, not wanting to be that superficial. But curiosity got the better of him. When he looked down at the black-and-white picture, bright eyes looked up at him and her hair was light. She was beautiful. He could imagine what she looked like in real life.
“Well, what do you think?” Madame Chase asked as a smile curled one side of her lips.
Wyatt lifted his eyes from the picture. “When do I leave?” He had never really thought of marrying anyone before, but he had said that he wanted a different life. An adventure. What better adventure than marriage?
Madame Chase handed him a file. “You will leave Saturday. It will take three days for you to arrive in Laramie, Wyoming. A man by the name of Colton Hill will meet you there and will take you to Whiskey River. Madison will pay for your expenses.”
“No,” Wyatt said as he looked at the file. “I am a gentleman, if nothing else, and I will not let a lady pay my expenses. I’ll even pay your fee, as well.”
Madame Chase smiled as she leaned her head to the side. “So be it. You have until Saturday to get your affairs in order. Will you be ready?”
He nodded once. “Yes. That will be fine. I’ll be ready.”
Madame Chase smiled. “I must ask you some questions.”
Wyatt sat back, waiting.
“For starters, what is your name?”
Wyatt smiled as he realized that he hadn’t properly introduced himself. “Forgive me. My name is Wyatt Nash.”
“And your profession?”
Wyatt sighed as he sat back. “I’m a gambler.”
Madame Chase nodded. “Sir, if I may be so bold, why are you doing this?”
Wyatt looked in her eyes. “As you heard in the saloon, I’m tired of this life; of people thinking I cheated them.”
Madame Chase’s eyes narrowed. “And do you? Cheat?”

He scoffed as his eyes narrowed. “I never cheated a man before in my life. I’m just the luckiest son of a bitch I know. Pardon the language.”

 Excerpt:

It was unbearably tempting to press her mouth to his. If she allowed the intimacy of a kiss, wasn’t that the doorway to her undoing? She was already so very aware of him. That echoing emptiness crept from the corners of her heart and darted through her. Daphne knew the press of his lips, the scent of him, the comfort of touch, the thrill of passion would suppress the chasm.

She should be doing everything in her heart to resist whatever this was, for if she allowed him close enough, he would soon be in her bed, and that way led to disaster, she knew it with a certainty that defied logic. Her lips paused a whisper below his, and the fingers on her hips tensed. A rush of fierce anticipation flowed through her veins, yet the dratted man did not press his advantage at her evident willingness. Instead, he waited, an odd sort of tension riding the air.

He kissed her. She made a soft sound and parted her lips. He tasted of mint, spice, and Sylvester himself. His tongue lightly skimmed along her lower lip, and she softened more against him. Then it was over.

Her lids fluttered open, and she stared at him in bemusement.

“Thank you,” he said.

She suddenly knew with a shattering certainty that their marriage as it had existed in that cold, indifferent state was over. What stood on the other side of the invitation, pain or happiness, she did not know, but she was willing for the next several weeks to discover it.

Marine - Pendleton Petticoats Series by Shanna Hatfield #sweet #historical #western #romance

Title: Marnie
Author: Shanna Hatfield
Genre: Sweet, Historical, Western Romance
Hosted by: Lady Amber’s PR

Blurb:
Only one man's love
Will redeem her past. . .
Condemned to a future of shame and regret, Marnie Jones battles to keep going one day at a time. Divested of hope, she’s all but given up when a handsome stranger arrives in town. Desperate for the marshal to ride out of Pendleton, Marnie fears he’ll rekindle the embers of her broken dreams into a roaring flame before he leaves.
Married to his career, US Marshal Lars Thorsen avoids relationships of any kind. Spending his days transporting prisoners, guarding political figures, and chasing down fugitives, he doesn’t have room in his life for feelings or emotions. Especially not the tender, protective feelings stirred by the woman who wants him or the two orphans who need him.

USA Today Bestselling Author Shanna Hatfield writes character-driven romances with relatable heroes and heroines. Her historical westerns have been described as “reminiscent of the era captured by Bonanza and The Virginian” while her contemporary works have been called “laugh-out-loud funny, and a little heart-pumping sexy without being explicit in any way.”

Convinced everyone deserves a happy ending, this hopeless romantic is out to make it happen one story at a time. When she isn’t writing or indulging in chocolate (dark and decadent, please), Shanna hangs out with her husband, lovingly known as Captain Cavedweller.

Shanna is a member of Western Writers of America, Women Writing the West, Romance Writers of America, Sweet Romance Reads, Cowboy Kisses, and Pioneer Hearts.

“I don’t know how many times I have to tell you, I’m not going with you today.” Marnie fisted her hands on her hips and blocked his entrance to her room.

“Yes, you are. Put on your hat and let’s go.” Lars nudged her aside then brazenly strode to her closet and pulled out the hat he liked the best, a cream curved-brim hat with cream and pink silk roses that matched the gown she wore. “Put that on.”

“No.” Marnie leaned against the dresser and glowered. “And you can’t bully me into doing what you want, Lars Thorsen.”

“Maybe not, but I can ask nicely.” Lars lifted one of her hands and kissed the back of it, keeping his hot blue gaze pinned to hers. He saw the shift in her eyes as the shutters lifted. The frown she wore softened on a sigh and he knew he had her.

After kissing her other hand, he moved on to her right cheek, then her left, followed by her nose. “Will you please accompany the children and me to church? Even if you won’t do it for me or yourself, do it for those two youngsters. They’ll be disappointed if you don’t come.”

Marnie closed her eyes and took a deep breath. “I don’t think you realize what you’re asking, what you’re doing.”

“I’m fully aware of what I’m doing.” Lars momentarily forgot about Easter, the Webster kids, and everything else as his attention focused on Marnie’s lips. He lowered his head and kissed both corners before gently caressing her mouth with his — teasing, enticing, pleading. “Please, sweet thing? Please go with us?”

Nearly undone by Lars’ tender kisses, Marnie snatched the hat from his hand and positioned it on her head. Jabbing in a hatpin, she rammed her fingers into lacy cream gloves and grabbed a reticule she saved for special occasions.

Pointing to the door, she shook her head. “Arguing with you is utterly pointless.”

“Yep. Glad you figured that out.” Lars’ wicked grin made her smile and she held his hand as they descended the stairs. “One way or another, I always get what I want.”
