Tonya’s psychotic ex is stalking her. Not the best time to meet men, still her best friend begs her to show up for blind date dinner. Her plan includes the meet and greet, then heading home. Of course, she never expected a man who sent every hormone in her body into high alert. Will looked like her next bad decision.

Will’s work as a divorce lawyer included discouraging embittered women from ramming their soon to be exes with the car or setting fire to their husband’s latest girlfriend. No wonder he fell hard for Tonya. The first woman he met with no agenda, well almost none. It’s obvious Tonya is knee deep in trouble, but refuses to ask for help. Instead of running the other way, he contemplates dashing into the tornado she refers to as her life. With any luck, he might survive.

“Does your dog object to all your dates?” His warm voice sounded mellow, not the least bit upset that Sebastian had made his pants into a teething toy. The shadows hid his expression.

“Well, um.” She stalled, caught on the word date. Goodness, a date, well if it were, most men would have ended the evening much earlier with some excuse about working the next day. “It’s hard to say. True, he’s not a fan of men, but he’s a rescue, and a man could have abandoned him.

“Maybe,” Will readily agree as he drew closer. “I’ll tell you what I think.”

Tonya watched his approach, aware she needed to do something to discourage him. It mystified her that despite her inappropriate questions and a minor mauling by her dog, that the attraction still existed.

True, she wasn’t an ogre, but she hadn’t tried too hard to play up her good features tonight. His arms were around her before she could think of a suitable answer; then again, it might just be a bootie call. Her arms wrapped around his neck while her fingers played with his hair.

His lips on hers made her forget her objections.  She wanted to shout her joy in being a woman when his hard, muscular body pressed up against hers. How nice it was to be with a real man as opposed to the fantasy version she’d been making do with for the last six months. A slight buzzing sounded on the edge of her awareness, but it didn’t seem to fit into the scenario. Peculiar.

Will’s mouth left hers, allowing her enough time to refuse the unspoken request made by his erection growing between the two of them. Instead, she stood on her tiptoes rubbing her cheek against his beard stubble.
